Setting Up Weather and Track Conditions on an Assetto Corsa Server

Customizing weather and track conditions on your Assetto Corsa server adds realism and variety to races. This tutorial will guide you through configuring weather settings, grip levels, and track temperature using VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

1️⃣ Configuring Weather Conditions

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click on your Assetto Corsa server to open the management dashboard.

  3. Navigate to the File Manager tab.

  4. Open the server configuration file:

    /config/server_cfg.ini

  5. Locate the WEATHER section and set the desired weather condition:

    WEATHER=5_light_clouds

    Available weather options:

    • 1_light_fog

    • 2_heavy_fog

    • 3_clear

    • 4_mid_clear

    • 5_light_clouds

    • 6_heavy_clouds

    • 7_heavy_clouds_thunder

  6. Click Save Content to apply the changes.

2️⃣ Adjusting Track Conditions and Temperature

  1. In File Manager, open server_cfg.ini again.

  2. Modify the track grip level at the start of the session:

    TRACK_GRIP=95

    • 90-95 = Realistic starting grip with track evolution.

    • 100 = Maximum grip (ideal for competitive races).

  3. Adjust track grip progression rate:

    TRACK_GRIP_INCREASE=0.1

    • 0.0 = No grip increase.

    • 0.1 = Grip improves slightly during the session.

  4. Set track temperature (affects tire performance):

    TRACK_TEMPERATURE=28

    • 20-30°C = Normal road temperature.

    • 40+°C = Hot conditions (tires wear faster).

  5. Click Save Content to apply the settings.

3️⃣ Restarting the Server to Apply Weather and Track Conditions

  1. Navigate to the Console tab.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Click Start to restart it with the new settings.
