Adding Custom Traffic Patterns for Dense AI on Shutoko Revival Project in Assetto Corsa

Last updated on Feb 13, 2025

Custom traffic patterns allow you to control rush hour density, traffic hotspots, and road closures, creating a more dynamic driving experience in Shutoko Revival Project (SRP). This tutorial will guide you through configuring custom traffic patterns for Dense AI on your Assetto Corsa server using VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

  • An Assetto Corsa server hosted with VolticHost.

  • Access to VolticHost Game Panel.

  • Shutoko Revival Project and Dense AI installed on the server.

  • AI traffic configuration files (traffic.ini).

1️⃣ Configuring Custom Traffic Patterns

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click on your Assetto Corsa server to open the management dashboard.

  3. Navigate to the File Manager tab.

  4. Open the traffic configuration directory:

    /content/tracks/shutoko_revival_project/data/

  5. Locate and open traffic.ini.

  6. Define traffic patterns for different times of day:

    [TRAFFIC_PATTERN]
    MORNING=60
    AFTERNOON=80
    EVENING=100
    NIGHT=40

    • MORNING = Lower traffic density during early hours.

    • AFTERNOON = Moderate traffic as more cars appear.

    • EVENING = Rush hour, maximum density.

    • NIGHT = Lighter traffic for late-night driving.

Custom traffic density patterns have been set!

2️⃣ Defining Traffic Hotspots and Road Closures

  1. In File Manager, open traffic.ini again.

  2. Specify congestion points where traffic slows down:

    [HOTSPOTS]
    AREA_1=Shibuya Junction,80
    AREA_2=Rainbow Bridge,70

    • First value = Name of the area.

    • Second value = Maximum allowed speed (in km/h).

  3. Block certain roads to force alternative routes (optional):

    [ROAD_CLOSURES]
    CLOSED_1=Expressway Entrance A
    CLOSED_2=Tunnel Exit B

  4. Click Save Content to apply the changes.

Traffic hotspots and road closures have been configured!

3️⃣ Restarting the Server to Apply Custom Traffic Patterns

  1. Navigate to the Console tab.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Click Start to restart it with the new traffic patterns.

  4. Join the server in Assetto Corsa and verify that traffic flows according to the defined settings.

Custom traffic patterns are now active on your server!

🎉 Conclusion

You have successfully added custom traffic patterns for Dense AI on Shutoko Revival Project in Assetto Corsa! These settings allow you to control rush hour density, congestion points, and road closures for a more immersive experience.
