Adding Custom Supply Drops and Loot Crates on an ARK Server

Customizing supply drops and loot crates on your ARK: Survival Evolved server allows you to change loot tables, increase drop quality, and add modded items. Server owners can tailor loot drops for PvP balance, progression adjustments, or unique gameplay experiences.

This guide will walk you through modifying supply drops, setting custom loot tables, and applying changes using VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

  • An ARK: Survival Evolved server purchased at VolticHost.com

  • Access to VolticHost Game Panel

  • Item Blueprint Paths (needed for custom loot tables)

  • (Optional) Modded items from Steam Workshop

1️⃣ Locate Item Blueprint Paths for Custom Loot

To customize loot, you need item blueprint paths:

  1. Visit ARK Wiki Blueprint List.

  2. Find the exact blueprint path for each item you want in drops.

    • Example:

      BlueprintGeneratedClass'/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Items/Armor/Saddle/PrimalItemArmor_RexSaddle.PrimalItemArmor_RexSaddle_C'

✅ You now have the required blueprint paths!

2️⃣ Modify Supply Drop Loot Tables

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click on your ARK: Survival Evolved server.

  3. Navigate to the File Manager tab.

  4. Open:

    /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini

  5. Add custom loot entries for specific drops:

    ConfigOverrideSupplyCrateItems=(SupplyCrateClassString="SupplyCrate_Level03_C",MinItemSets=1,MaxItemSets=3,NumItemsPerSet=3,ItemSets=((MinQuantity=1,MaxQuantity=1,Chance=1.0,Items=("BlueprintGeneratedClass'/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Items/Armor/Saddle/PrimalItemArmor_RexSaddle.PrimalItemArmor_RexSaddle_C'"))))

    • Edits the Level 3 (White) drop

    • Ensures a guaranteed Rex Saddle drop

  6. Click Save File and restart the server.

✅ Custom loot is now added to supply drops!

3️⃣ Increase Loot Quality for Higher-Tier Drops

To make high-level drops contain better loot, adjust quality settings:

  1. Open:

    /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini

  2. Modify loot quality multipliers:

    SupplyCrateLootQualityMultiplier=3.0

    (This increases drop loot quality by 3x.)

✅ High-level drops now contain better items!

4️⃣ Add Custom Modded Items to Drops (Optional)

If using modded items, follow these steps:

  1. Find the mod on ARK Steam Workshop.

  2. Copy the Mod ID from the URL.

  3. Modify Game.ini to include modded items:

  4. Save and restart the server.

✅ Modded items now appear in loot drops!

5️⃣ Restart the Server to Apply Changes

  1. Navigate to the Console tab in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then click Start to relaunch the server with new loot settings.
