How to Set Up and Configure Your ECO Server on VolticHost

Hosting an ECO server allows you to create a persistent, multiplayer ecological simulation where players build a civilization while managing resources and environmental impact. This guide will walk you through setting up and configuring your ECO server using VolticHost’s Game Panel.


Prerequisites

  • An ECO server purchased at VolticHost.com

  • Access to the VolticHost Game Panel

  • Any necessary mods or plugins you wish to install (optional)


Accessing Your ECO Server Panel

  1. Log in to your VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click on your ECO server.

  3. Navigate to the File Manager tab.

  4. Locate the Network.eco file inside the Configs folder.

  5. Open the file for editing.

You have successfully accessed your ECO server configuration files!


Changing Server Name and Description

  1. Open the Network.eco file in the File Manager.

  2. Locate the following lines:

    "Description": "Default ECO Server",
    "PublicServerName": "My ECO Server",
    
    
  3. Change "Default ECO Server" to a custom description and "My ECO Server" to your desired server name.

  4. Click Save File to apply the changes.

Your server name and description have been updated!


Adjusting Player Limit

  1. Open the Network.eco file.

  2. Find the setting:

    "MaxConnections": 10,
    
    
  3. Change the value (e.g., 10 to 20) to adjust the maximum number of players allowed.

  4. Click Save File to confirm the changes.

Enabling Whitelist (Optional)

  1. Open the Users.eco file in the Configs folder.

  2. Locate the section related to whitelist settings.

  3. Add the Steam IDs or usernames of players you want to allow access.

  4. Click Save File after making changes.

Restart the Server to Apply Changes

  1. Navigate to the Console tab in the VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then click Start to relaunch the server with updated settings.
