Enabling and Configuring Server Events on an ARK: Survival Evolved Server

ARK: Survival Evolved features seasonal events and special in-game modifiers that enhance gameplay with unique creatures, skins, and boosted rates. By enabling server events, you can give players access to Holiday Events, Evolution Events, or Custom Modifiers.

This guide will walk you through enabling official ARK events, configuring event rates, and customizing event-specific settings in VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

1️⃣ Enable an Official ARK Event

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel

  2. Click on your ARK: Survival Evolved server.

  3. Navigate to the Startup tab.

  4. Locate the Active Event setting.

  5. Enter the name of the event you want to enable.

    List of Official ARK Events:

    • Fear Evolved → FearEvolved

    • Turkey Trial → TurkeyTrial

    • Winter Wonderland → WinterWonderland

    • Love Evolved → LoveEvolved

    • Eggcellent Adventure → EggcellentAdventure

    • Summer Bash → SummerBash

    • Halloween Event → ARKaeology

  6. Click Save Changes.

✅ Your event is now enabled!

2️⃣ Modify Event-Specific Settings

Some events allow you to modify boosted rates, spawn settings, or special creatures.

  1. Navigate to the File Manager in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Open the following file for editing:

    /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini

  3. Add or modify event-related settings under [ServerSettings].

    Example: Boosting holiday creature spawns

    ActiveEvent=FearEvolved
HalloweenDinoSpawns=True

    Example: Boosting event experience rates

    XPBoostMultiplier=2.5

  4. Click Save File.

✅ Your event settings are now customized!

3️⃣ Adjust Event-Specific Rates (XP, Taming, Harvesting)

To apply event rate boosts, add these lines under [ServerSettings] in GameUserSettings.ini:

TamingSpeedMultiplier=3.0
HarvestAmountMultiplier=3.5
XPMultiplier=2.0

  • Increase TamingSpeedMultiplier for faster taming.

  • Modify HarvestAmountMultiplier to get more resources.

  • Adjust XPMultiplier for quicker leveling.

✅ Event rate boosts are now applied!

4️⃣ Restart the Server to Apply Changes

  1. Go to the Console tab in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then click Start to restart the server.

✅ The event is now live on your server!

5️⃣ Verify That the Event is Active

  1. Join your ARK server.

  2. Look for event-themed creatures, drops, and skins.

  3. Check server rates using XP, harvesting, or taming tests.

  4. If the event isn't working, recheck the event name in the Startup tab and restart the server.

✅ Your event is successfully running!

6️⃣ Disable the Event (After Completion)

When an event is over, remove or disable it:

  1. Go to the Startup tab in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Set Active Event to None.

  3. Click Save Changes and restart the server.

✅ The event is now disabled, and the server is back to normal settings!
