Enabling Custom Engrams and Unlocks on an ARK: Survival Evolved Server

Customizing engrams and unlocks on an ARK: Survival Evolved server allows you to control which items are available, modify level requirements, or enable automatic unlocks. This is useful for PvP balance, progression tuning, and custom modded servers.

This guide will walk you through enabling automatic engram unlocks, adjusting level requirements, and modifying custom engram settings in VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

1️⃣ Enable Automatic Engram Unlocking

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel

  2. Click on your ARK: Survival Evolved server.

  3. Navigate to the Startup tab.

  4. Locate the Auto Unlock Engrams setting.

  5. Set it to True to enable automatic engram unlocks at level-up.

  6. Click Save Changes.

✅ Players will now automatically unlock engrams when leveling up!

2️⃣ Modify Engram Unlock Requirements

  1. Navigate to the File Manager in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Open the following file for editing:

    /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Game.ini

  3. Add or modify the following lines to unlock all engrams at level 1:

    [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]
bAutoUnlockAllEngrams=True

  4. Click Save File.

✅ All engrams are now unlocked by default!

3️⃣ Customize Engram Unlock Levels

If you want to control which engrams unlock at each level, use the following format in Game.ini:

OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=0
OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=10
OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=15
OverridePlayerLevelEngramPoints=20

  • Each line corresponds to a level.

  • Adjust the numbers to increase or decrease engram points per level.

✅ Players now earn custom engram points at level-up!

4️⃣ Force Unlock Specific Engrams at Level-Up

To automatically unlock specific engrams, use this format:

EngramEntryAutoUnlocks=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_AdvancedRifleBullet_C",LevelToAutoUnlock=10)

  • Replace "EngramEntry_AdvancedRifleBullet_C" with the desired engram class.

  • Change LevelToAutoUnlock=10 to the level at which the engram becomes available.

✅ Your custom engrams now unlock at the desired level!

5️⃣ Restart the Server to Apply Changes

  1. Go to the Console tab in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then click Start to restart the server.

✅ All engram settings are now active!

6️⃣ Verify Engram Changes in Game

  1. Join your ARK server.

  2. Level up and check if engrams unlock automatically.

  3. If adjustments are needed, tweak values in Game.ini, save changes, and restart the server.
