Change the Map on an ARK: Survival Evolved Server in VolticHost Game Panel

Changing the ARK: Survival Evolved map allows players to experience different environments, creatures, and challenges. Whether switching to The Island, Scorched Earth, Fjordur, or another custom map, you can easily configure your ARK server in VolticHost Game Panel.

This guide will walk you through changing the ARK map and configuring map-specific settings in VolticHost Game Panel.

📌 Prerequisites

1️⃣ Choose the Map You Want to Use

Here are some official ARK map names:

✅ Make sure to use the correct map name for the Startup configuration!

2️⃣ Change the Map in VolticHost Game Panel

  1. Log in to VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click on your ARK: Survival Evolved server.

  3. Navigate to the Startup tab.

  4. Locate the Map field.

  5. Enter the new map name (e.g., Fjordur).

  6. Click Save Changes.

✅ Your map is now updated in the server configuration!

3️⃣ Adjust Game Settings for the New Map

  1. Navigate to the File Manager in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Open the following file for editing:

    /ShooterGame/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/GameUserSettings.ini

  3. Modify the settings under [ServerSettings] as needed for the new map.

Example Adjustments:

  • Enable Flyers on Scorched Earth:

    bAllowFlyerCarryPVE=True

  • Increase Difficulty on Aberration:

    OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0

  • Boost Resource Spawn on Genesis:

    HarvestAmountMultiplier=3.0
  1. Click Save File.

✅ Your settings are now adjusted for the new map!

4️⃣ Restart the Server to Apply Changes

  1. Go to the Console tab in VolticHost Game Panel.

  2. Click Stop to shut down the server.

  3. Wait a few seconds, then click Start to restart the server.

✅ Your ARK server is now running the new map!

5️⃣ Verify That the Map Has Changed

Method 1: Check the Server Console

  • Go to the Console tab in VolticHost Game Panel and look for logs indicating the new map is loading.

Method 2: Join the Server

  1. Open ARK: Survival Evolved.

  2. Click Join ARK and search for your server.

  3. Connect and confirm the new map is active.
